EOD technicians within 797th Ordnance Company participates in a two-day unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) threat defeat course, Fort Hood, Texas, December 8-9, 2022. Focus included a threat brief in academics followed by a live fire range as teams were run on realistic situational training exercise (STX) lanes utilizing real threat air crafts. UAS threats are a growing part within EOD, as unmanned aerial systems become a more ubiquitous feature of the battlefield across the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility so does the need for innovative thinking and training to develop EOD capabilities.
