From 1954-1970 The Air Force Museum resided in Building 89, Area C, Wright-Patterson AFB and remained true to its roots as a technical museum with frequent visits from Air Force personnel who studied the artifacts. The museum experienced a $95 thousand improvement in 1959. Many of the museum’s aircraft remained in an outdoor airpark across the street. (U.S. Air Force photo)
