YOKOSUKA, Japan (Jan. 25, 2023) – Seaman Scottie Pennington, from Perris, California, inserts an intravenous needle with training from Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Shuhei Hamaguchi, from Detroit, during a Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course aboard U.S. 7th Fleet’s flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), Jan. 25. The Combat Lifesaver Course provides Sailors with hands-on training to ensure they are prepared to respond to medical emergencies. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
