U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Carson Romero, a New Iberia, Louisiana native and a scout sniper with Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, tracks a simulated adversary vessel during a simulated straight transit aboard the Wasp-Class Amphibious Assault Ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) Jan. 28, 2023. Romero joined the Marines to experience different parts of the world and different cultures. His favorite part of his job is the brotherhood he has with his fellow Marines. During the DATF drill, the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group positioned itself where the ships align vertically and both Marines and Sailors provided security from weapon systems.
