U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Jeanette Jimenez, 407th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron weather duty forecaster, uses the control pad of a tactical meteorological observation system at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Jan. 19, 2023. The tactical meteorological observation system, known as a TMQ-53, is a deployable complete surface weather observation system that is meant to be used anywhere in the world. The system observes the present weather conditions automatically and in real-time and then sends those observations to a global weather data network that is utilized by weather forecasters to monitor airfield conditions.
