U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The SpaceX Polaris Dawn crew take a break from basic freefall parachute training at the United States Air Force Academy to conduct a media interview, Jan. 23-27, 2023. The AM-490 Basic Freefall Course prepares students to conduct solo, freefall skydives in their first jumps over USAFA’s Davis Airfield. AM-490 is taught by the 98th Flying Training Squadron staff and cadets of the Wings of Blue Parachute Demonstration and Competition teams. The Polaris Dawn crew, Jared Isaacman, Mission Commander; Scott Poteet, Mission Pilot; Sarah Gillis, Mission Specialist; and Anna Menon, Mission Specialist and Medical Officer, completed the training alongside Academy cadets undergoing the same course.
