230125-N-JO823-1126 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Jan. 25, 2023) Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Joshua Collins, from Sebewaing, Michigan, uses a naval firefighting thermal imager during a joint damage control drill aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), while in-port Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Jan. 25. The drill was designed to enhance coordination between the Ronald Reagan’s in-port emergency teams and Navy Region Japan Fire and Emergency Services Yokosuka in the event of a large fire that requires additional assistance. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports Alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
