U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit's (MEU) Maritime Special Purpose Force and Battalion Landing Team 1/6, utilized UH-1Y Venom helicopters and rigid inflatable boats with support from the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) conduct a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) during PHIBRON/MEU Integration Training (PMINT) while at sea, Jan. 27, 2023. Visit, board, search, and seizure operations are a set of tactics, techniques, and procedures for all missions requiring a target vessel to be visited or boarded. PMINT serves as an opportunity to strengthen integration between the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron Group 8’s battle staffs and training to core MAGTF mission essential tasks with capabilities organic to a forward-deployed Amphibious Ready Group/MEU.
