Inter-American Defense College Leadership Welcomes U.S. Navy Adm. Mike Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations and other guests for a speaking engagement at the IADC Campus on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., Feb. 1, 2023. Adm. Gilday's visit marks the first time a Chief of Naval Operations has visited the IADC. During the presentation to class 62, Admiral Gilday spoke of an emerging initiative of the U.S. Navy to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase maritime domain awareness and AI cooperation with allies and partners in securing maritime trade routes across the globe. He also discussed the Priorities of the U.S. Navy in the Western Hemisphere and the importance of Allies and Partners to counter malign influences that impact the security and economies of said nations.
