U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to Bastion Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade conduct a "seize the objective" exercise at the Novo Selo Training Site, Bulgaria, Feb. 3, 2023. During this exercise Soldiers are required to correctly and proficiently react to enemy contact, return live fire, and provide medical care under fire. Spc. Preston Lauscher conducts medical procedures on his fellow soldier. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
