U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Mylen Morales relieves Capt. Alan Buck of his command of Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego, Feb. 3, 2023. Female officers began to be assigned to recruit training companies as series commanders at MCRD San Diego in 2020, and Captain Morales is the first ever to be appointed to command an entire training company.
