Soldiers at the Fort Campbell Soldier Recovery Unit learned about the healthful benefits of microgreens and planted seeds to grow their own plantings during an occupational therapy session. Cultivating the soil, planting seeds and misting crops uses fine motor skills that may improve hand-eye coordination, concentration and strengthen small muscles in the fingers and hands. The SRU is part of the U.S. Army Recovery Care Program and supports wounded, ill and injured Soldiers who require six months or more of rehabilitative care and complex medical management.
