U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Derek C. France, Third Air Force commander, walks with Brig. Gen. Mehmet Serkan Dan, 10th Tanker Base Command commander, at Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye, Jan 27, 2023. The 39th ABW is proud to collaborate with the 10th TBC, and the Turkish Air Force as a whole, in defense of NATO’s southern flank. Maj. Gen. France traveled to Incirlik AB to meet with Airmen, experience the wing’s Larger than Life weekend and observe how they support Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, and U.S. European Command objectives. Third Air Force issues directives to subordinate commands and takes action on behalf of the USAFE-AFAFRICA commander as directed. The command takes deliberate actions to develop Airmen and their families, confronts global challenges in support of the National Defense Strategy to defend our country and our allies and utilizes dedicated efforts to deliver peace to our nation and its allies by fostering stability and deterring aggression throughout Europe and Africa.
