U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Sebastian Cruz, a Hampton, Georgia native, and Lance Cpl. Michael Canales Gonzalez, a Sanford, North Carolina native, both machine gunners with Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provide security during raid rehearsals on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 4, 2023. The motorized infantry raid was the culminating event for MEU EX II, following Amphibious Squadron/Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration Training (PMINT). The raid integrated multiple elements of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force with live-fire events and showcased the MEU’s ability to conduct ship-to-shore maneuver and secure a beach landing site.
