U.S. Marine Corps Col. Thomas M. Bedell, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, presents Sgt. Maj. Marquis L. Young with the Noncommissioned Officer Sword at MCAS Miramar during Young's appointment to sergeant major of the air station, Feb. 3, 2023. Young, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, replaced Sgt. Maj. Jason R. Cain, who retired in December of 2022. Prior to assuming his new position, Young successfully completed his third tour in Marine Corps Recruiting Command.
