A U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides security for the combat rubber raiding crafts during a boat raid exercise on Kin Blue Beach, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 7, 2023. The boat raid increased the Marines proficiency to secure contested terrain and allow friendly forces to advance from ship to shore. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
