Alaska Air National Guard aircrew and ground maintenance personnel from the 176th Wing prepare a 211th Rescue Squadron HC-130J Combat King II aircraft for launch on a training mission from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 7, 2023. The HC-130J along with the 210th RQS HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter and rescue personnel with the 212th RQS sit alert for the federal search and rescue mission across Alaska’s vast Arctic region. The HC-130J’s aerial refueling capability significantly extends the HH-60G Pave Hawk’s range for conducting search and recovery missions. (Alaska National Guard photo by Dana Rosso)
