    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers christened a new survey vessel named Beeman. Family, friends, and employees gather at the harbor of Newport, Ore., to smash a bottle of champagne on the nose of the new boat and deem it ready for action. USACE survey vessels are essential to maintaining the nation's channels and harbors safe and navigable.
