230220-N-MK318-1029 EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb 20, 2023) Aviation Electricians Mate 2nd Class Trevor Ebersole, assigned to Helicopter Maritime Squadron 49 (HSM 49), greases a disconnect coupling on an MH-60R helicopter in the hangar bay of Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Mobile (LCS 26), Feb. 20. Littoral Combat Ships are fast, optimally manned, mission-tailored surface combatants that operate in near-shore and open-ocean environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats.
