Royal Australian Air Force C-27J Spartan Aircraft Flight Lieutenant Ben Calaman briefs a Search and Rescue mission with a U.S. Air Force member 119th Operations Group on board C-27 prior to conducting a joint Search and Rescue mission supporting the U.S. Coast Guard that took place near Andersen Air Force Base, Guam on February 12 2023. These assets were able to support search and rescue operations due to being involved in Cope North, which is a combined forces exercise that focuses on building partnerships between the RAAF, U.S. Air Force, and Japan Air Self Defense Forces to enable a safe and open Indo-Pacific region.
