Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd class Steven Jones, from Philadelphia, is promoted by Capt. John Deehr, commanding officer of USS Peleliu (LHA 5), to petty officer 2nd class through the Command Advancement Program. Peleliu is the flagship for the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group currently underway conducting certification exercise (CERTEX) with amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) and amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20).
