U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Matthew V. Fitter, assigned to the 59th Aviation Troop Command (59th ATC), South Carolina Army National Guard, receives the Order of Saint Michael (OSM), Silver, medal in recognition of over thirty years of meritorious service as a Soldier and leader in the U.S. Army Aviation community, South Carolina National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility (location 1), McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina, Feb. 16, 2023. The award was presented by U.S. Army Col. John McElveen, commander of the 59th ATC. Established in 1990, the OSM is a joint venture between the Army Aviation Association of America and the U.S. Army Aviation Center. It recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Army Aviation by demonstrating the highest standards of integrity, moral character, and professionalism.
