230224-N-MK318-1013 PEARL HARBOR (Feb. 24, 2023) Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Mobile (LCS 26) Blue crew Sailor, Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Michelle Venegas, a native of Phoenix, passes word through a sound powered telephone while standing starboard lookout watch during sea and anchor operations on the ship’s bridge wing, Feb. 24. Littoral Combat Ships are fast, optimally manned, mission-tailored surface combatants that operate in near-shore and open-ocean environments, winning against 21st century coastal threats.
