Col. Larry Thomas, commander of the 83rd United States Army Reserve Readiness Training Center, provides Brig. Gen. Patricia R. Wallace an overview of the 83rd's lineage that began in World War I, Feb. 24, 2023 at Fort Knox. Wallace also viewed the artifacts donated by the family of Sgt. Ralph Neppel, the only Medal of Honor recipient of the 83rd during World War II. This is Wallace's first visit to the 83rd since she assumed command of the 80th Training Command Jan. 21, 2023. Wallace spent the afternoon with 83rd staff and instructors to learn more about their curriculum and initiatives.
