The Illinois National Guard hosted a Desert Storm remembrance ceremony at the Illinois State Military Museum Feb. 28, honoring the 18 service members from the state of Illinois who passed away. Brig. Gen. Mark Alessia, Director of the Joint Staff, ILNG, gave opening remarks. Lt. Col. (retired) Renysha Brown, a 28-year veteran of the ILNG, served as the event's keynote speaker. During the event, roses were laid by Desert Storm veterans to honor the fallen.
