The commander of the 33rd Infantry Regiment, 10th Division, Middle Army, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, Col. Kojo Furuya, welcomes Lt. Col. John Larsen, commander of 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Oct. 23, 2012. The two commanders are leading their units in exercise Orient Shield 12. Exercise Orient Shield is an annual, tactical level, field-training exercise is co-hosted by U.S. Army Japan and the Ground Self-Defense Force. This year’s exercise is taking place at Aibano Training Area.
