Marine Forces Special Operations Command hosts a cake cutting ceremony in celebration of the 247th Marine Corps Birthday at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Nov. 10, 2022. It is a Marine Corps Birthday tradition for the oldest and youngest Marine present to share the first slice of cake. Col. Richard Hansen, chief of staff, passed the slice to Lance Cpl. Robert W. Holman, symbolizing the passing of wisdom, knowledge, and experience as well as trust and confidence in those who will carry on our Marine Corps traditions in the future.
