An F-16C Fighting Falcon assigned to the 79th Fighter Squadron takes off during the first-ever implementation of the South Carolina Electronic Warfare Range (SCEWR) initiative in a training exercise at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Feb. 14, 2023. The SCEWR initiative is a product of the creativity and innovation of 20th Fighter Wing Airmen and civilians. It brings together the flying community, the 20th Civil Engineer Squadron, operations support personnel, and weapons and tactics specialists in the South Carolina Range Assessment Team (SCRAT) to contrive the best possible training environment to produce combat-ready pilots who can get after the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) mission.
