U.S. Marines and personnel with 4th Civil Affairs Group and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South participated in Exercise Integrated Advance (IA 23), a biannual interagency training exercise hosted by U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) at Doral, Florida, Feb. 27 to March 3, 2023. IA 23 consisted of a five-day tabletop exercise focused on migration operations and provided an opportunity to validate assumptions, resolve friction points, and clarify transitions in the event of Department of Defense and interagency support for migration operations. MARFORSOUTH’s ability to integrate into planning and response efforts is critical to joint planning and service support to operations.
