Royal Thai Marines, along with U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. John Gonzalez, a transmission chief with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, set up radio equipment during Exercise Cobra Gold in Chonburi province, Kingdom of Thailand on March 1, 2023. Royal Thai and U.S. Marine radio operators conducted a communications exercise to rehearse capabilities and sharpen their skills together. Cobra Gold, now in its 42nd year, is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored training event that builds on the longstanding friendship between the two allied nations and brings together a robust multinational force to promote regional peace and security in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
