Lt. Gen. Kenneth J. Glueck, Jr. addresses an audience during an all-hands period of reflection brief at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma Oct. 24. “Understand that we are showing the Japanese people that we are very serious about these incidents and use this period as a time of reflection,” said Glueck. “Think about your actions and demonstrate that we are good stewards, neighbors and ambassadors and that we respect the customs, traditions and the people of Japan.” Glueck visited MCAS Futenma and plans to visit all Marine installations on island within the week to address recent alleged sexual assault incidents and the resulting policy while emphasizing the role of service members as ambassadors on Okinawa. Glueck is the III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general.
