Royal Thai Army Sergeant Major 1st Class Supalerk Panthong, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, with the Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC), cuts detonating cord for a large-scale disposal during a bilateral explosive ordnance reduction event at Ta Mor Roi Training area in Surin Province, Kingdom of Thailand, Mar. 3, 2023. Royal Thai and U.S. Armed Forces worked together during the training event to conduct explosive ordnance disposal operations, render-safe technique training, and advanced technical skills exchange. Cobra Gold, now in its 42nd year, is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored training event that builds on the long-standing friendship between the two allied nations and brings together a robust multinational force to promote regional peace and security in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
