    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    U.S. Navy boatswain’s mate second class Jeremiah Nortey, with the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD-48), gives a signal during flight operations off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, March 5, 2023. Flight operations were conducted to prepare the crew for search and rescue operations. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
