Soldiers from the German Army’s 6th Battery of the Artillery Battalion 345 watch from on top a hill as a pilot assigned to the 124th Fighter Wing's 190th Fighter Squadron flies an A-10 Thunderbolt II overhead during a joint close air support training event at Saylor Creek Range, Idaho, Feb. 16. The range, with an impact area 3 miles wide by 6 miles long, enables the joint training between the Idaho Air National Guard and visiting soldiers from Idar-Oberstein, Germany, to incorporate NATO tactics, techniques and procedures using A-10 aircraft to prosecute training targets with live munitions as they would in combat.
