The last day of the Air Assault School is a particularly arduous one. Up hours before sunrise, Soldiers ruck 12 miles (19 km) in under 3 hours with 35 pounds on their back and their weapon. After a final check of their packed items and a light physical "smoking," over 200 new Air Assault Soldiers are ready for graduation. Command Sgt. Maj. Jacinto Garza, NCOIC, ARCENT, gives the commencement speech and everyone celebrates together in pinning their wings. This is the first Air Assault course at Camp Buehring, Kuwait since COVID, March 4, 2023.
