A computer screen displays a weather balloon’s path and weather recordings as it climbs after being released March 1 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The balloons carry a radiosonde device that gathers information like GPS coordinates, wind speed, direction, height, ascension rate, pressure, temperature and humidity.
