Members of the United States Parachute Team, Golden Knights, descend from the sky during the 31st annual Amigo Airsho “Thunder in the Desert Sky” on Biggs Army Airfield Oct. 20 to 21. The Golden Knights date back to 1959 when the Army put together a 13-person team to compete in the sport of skydiving. Since then they have been performing throughout the country as a recruiting tool. The Amigo Airsho was developed in 1981 to provide a patriotic, family-friendly experience that promotes aviation awareness and enriches the Paso Del Norte region. This year the air show included static aircraft displays, simulator-type activities, rides and plenty of food booths.
