Mr. Clyde Burris, Assistant Module Lead, Kirtland Wildland Support Module, 377th Civil Engineer Center, gives a safety and procedures briefing to members of the Wildland Fire Management Branch, along with a specialized team of fire experts from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service, Albuquerque Fire Department and others, before they execute a series of prescribed burns at Kirtland Air Force Base on Mar. 9, 2023. Prescribed burns are an effective way to slow potential future wildfires and are being conducted to address overgrown grass and wildfire fuel areas on the open land areas of the base.
