U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Anthony Kyer, a safety-equipment mechanic with Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 231, receives new rank insignia during a promotion ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, March 1, 2023. AV-8B Harrier II maintainers with VMA-231 were promoted to a higher rank and entrusted with more responsibility. The AV-8B Harrier II continues to be an important asset to Marine Corps aviation and the maintainers are invaluable members of the Harrier community who contribute to mission completion.
