U.S. Marine Corps Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) Bass receives the PDSA Dicken Medal from his former handler, retired Staff Sgt. Alex Schnell, The United States War Dogs Association secretary, during the K-9 Veterans Day Celebration Ceremony in Washington, D.C., March 11, 2023. The award is the highest honor available to animals, Bass was presented with the award for his bravery and life-saving devotion to duty after his six-year service in the U.S. Marine Special Operation Command (MARSOC).
