Dustin Ritchie, a regional overdose prevention specialist with the Franklin County Prevention Coalition, hands out an opioid overdose reversal kit to Megan Benton, an environmental compliance specialist at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., after she and others listened to a training class, Feb. 23, 2023. The training was given multiple times over the course of the event to educate and certify attendees concerning opioid overdose and administering the reversal drug naloxone. The state of Tennessee requires that in order for individuals administering the drug to be protected by the state’s Good Samaritan law they must be certified through a training course. Certification can also be obtained through an online course. The Arnold Medical Aid Station hosted the training in conjunction with a drug take-back event. (U.S. Air Force photo by Jill Pickett)
