U.S. Army Spc. Daniel Gebhardt, a military working dog handler assigned to 928th Military Working Dog Detachment, Connecticut Army National Guard, and his military working dog Nnestor, receive a Sirius Courage Award during a K9 Veterans Day ceremony inside the Connecticut State Capitol, Hartford, Connecticut, March 13, 2023. The Sirius Courage award is presented by the Tails of Hope Foundation, Inc, to K9 teams who embody courage, loyalty, selfless service and sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty. The award is named after Port Authority Police Department K9 Sirius, the only professional K9 killed during the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
