Members of the Disaster Recovery Response Team recently tried out their new portable command post at Tyndall AFB, Florida. As part of the Natural Disaster Recovery Division of AFCEC, the team would respond to a base after an extreme weather event to provide a full assessment of the damage and repair estimates. The portable command post will enable to the team to operate independently of the host base. “Our ability to operate in a self-sufficient manner relieves the base from providing support and allows us to be singularly focused on assessing damaged facilities and infrastructure,” said Maj.
