SINGAPORE (March 16, 2023) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Dianeerika Asuncion, front, from Kahului, Hawaii, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Christopher Contreras, from Laguna Hills, California, both assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35, conduct maintenance on the hydraulic systems on an MH-60R SeaHawk, attached to HSM-35, on the flight deck of Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Oakland (LCS 24) at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, March 16, 2023. Oakland, part of Destroyer Squadron 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with Allies and partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
