A U.S. Army Reserve soldier, a part of the 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), an Army Reserve unit, participates in the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) joint annual task force validation exercise at Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy on Mar. 16, 2023. The JTF validation and command post exercise allows U.S. Africa Command to assess the capability of SETAF-AF to establish, organize and operate as a JTF headquarters. Service members and civilian personnel from U.S. Africa Command's service components join U.S. Transportation Command’s Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), U.S. Army Reserve units, and other inter-agency organizations to set-up and operate a joint task force headquarters during the validation exercise as part of African Lion 2023.
