CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (Feb.23, 2023)— Mario Yon, Camp Lemonnier Fire and Emergency Medical Services, fire crew chief, oversees as his fellow firefighters work to extinguish a mock aircraft blaze during a live-fire drill at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Feb. 23, 2023. Camp Lemonnier Fire and Emergency Medical Services conduct weekly training drills in preparation for yearly certifications to refresh different proficiencies required of firefighters including battling exterior and interior fires, as well as engine fires. Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, serves as an expeditionary base for U.S. military forces providing support to ships, aircraft and personnel that ensure security throughout Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
