Norfolk, Va. (March 21, 2023). Rick Brown, a volunteer docent at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum (HRNM), provides a guided tour through the museum’s gallery to Sailors assigned to Naval Medical Forces Atlantic (NMFL). The tour was provided as part of NMFL’s 2022 Regional Sailor of the Year (SOY) week, where finalists participated in a variety of personal and professional evaluations as well as leadership, naval heritage and team-building events throughout the week around Hampton Roads. HRNM is an official museum of the U.S. Navy and reports to the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC). The museum interprets the history of the U.S. Navy in and around Hampton Roads for service members and the general public via collection, research, preservation, interpretation of historical artifacts and educational programs for both the general public and servicemembers. The museum is located on the second floor of the Nauticus building in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia and is free to visit. (U.S. Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
