U.S. Army Central celebrated Women's History Month with an observance at Patton Hall, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., March 21, 2023. WHM is a celebration of women's contributions to history, culture, and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. This year's theme, "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories," acknowledges women, past and present, as essential contributors to the achievements of our military services and civilian workforce. Over 230,000 women serve in the active-duty military, comprising 17 percent of all service members, and women constitute 33 percent of DoD civilians. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Amber Cobena)
