U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 822nd Base Defense Squadron, begin field maneuver training at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, March 17, 2023. This particular maneuver focused on squad level tactical employment to prepare for upcoming missions. This type of long duration training maneuver is the hallmark of the 822nd BDS’s new “train and exercise with a purpose” line of effort, which removes high pressure and schedule oriented exercises that give only surface level feedback, and replaces it with a high quality, high tempo training environment that can be repeated frequently throughout the year.
