Team SFL’s MSG Immacula Pierre was in Jackson, Mississippi, meeting with officials from the Mississippi VA and the Veterans Home at Jackson. MSG Pierre had the opportunity to meet with Mississippi VA Executive Director COL (Ret.) Mark Smith and Mississippi VA Deputy Executive Director CW5 (Ret.) Tommy Smith and learn about ways the VA is helping to address challenges that Mississippi veterans face, including the need for transportation to help veterans access their VA appointments. She also toured the Veterans Home at Jackson with its Administrator, Mrs. Piccolar Johnson, and got to talk with veteran residents and listen to them share their stories.
